Went down to the water’s edge
Spoke with the sea
About all the things that were on my mind
Of governments and policy
Tried not to have any of those “funny thoughts”
Must be cerebral irritation
Running through my head
Like an express train over bones of the dead
Too much to express yet nothing to say
Memory lies frozen in an enchanted gaze
Nature, rapt and wandering
O’er fields so free
Whilst all the time the ponderous waves
Wash over me; The Sea
There was time for conversation
A mellow drama as tongue’s fiery flow
Of thoughts, patterns and ideas
Moving to and fro
Betwixt us two there lies a gulf
A finger’s width, no more
Yet it felt so free and easy
To be together, on the shore
