If, after years of dull insensibility
I begin to feel again
Forgive me
If, after decades of painless oblivion
I begin to feel emotions again
Forgive me
If, after years of neither pleasure nor pain, love nor hate
I begin to act like a human again
Forgive me
If, after aeons of putting up with with being treated like an insensate object of dull stupidity
I begin to cogitate again
Forgive me if I can’t cope with your dull insipid world
And I start to live again
